MY STORY

ABOUT KARMELLA KAYE

Sewing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember—woven through many generations. My mother lovingly sewed my clothes, just as her mother had sewn her clothes.

Years later, as a mother myself, I continued that tradition by sewing clothes for my own children. However, life happened and sewing gradually faded into the background. But when my grandchildren were born, everything came full circle.

Holding my grandbabies stirred a desire to sew again. What began as making a few special pieces for them quickly reignited a forgotten passion.

Now in retirement, I treasure the time I spend with my grandchildren and creating handmade baby clothes once again. Sewing has become more than a hobby—it’s a joy I get to live out every day.

Inspired by a cherished photo of my sister and me in adorable ruffled rompers, I began sewing vintage-style baby clothing. Whenever possible, I use vintage patterns, fabric and lace trimmings — bringing timeless designs back to life.

It’s a blessing to share these pieces with others, with the hope that they carry the same warmth, nostalgia, and care that has been passed down through generations in my family.
